Hotel "DAS Ahlbeck" collects TUI-Holly 2009

The choice of the most popular vacation hotel of 2009 has been made. The team from "Das Ahlbeck & Spa" can be proud to be the only Usedom hotel to have won the coveted TUI Holly 2009. The hotel's managing director Petra Bensemann, accepted the prize on Friday in Hannover from Dr. Volker Böttcher, Managing Director of TUI Germany, where a select circle of representatives of the Top 100 hotels Germany and Austria had gathered.

By way of reminder, last year the prize went to the Travel Charme hotel "Kurhaus Binz" that also did very well this year swept the board. In 2006 a TUI-Holly went to the Strandhotel in Bansin of the same company.

TUI-Holly's were awarded in 2009 in eight different categories: In addition to the prize won by "Das Ahlbeck" for the best hotel individual arrival, in September TUI gave prizes for the best hotel in the W. Mediterranean/Canaries, best hotel E. Mediterranean, best hotel long distance, best club, best newcomer, best TUI hotel and the prize as the TUI environment champion.

Petra Bensemann and her team are proud of the prize. "The Holly is especially meaningful for us, as it is awarded on the basis guest evaluations and not on the basis of a mystery inspection or comparison with Dehoga (German hotel and restaurant federation) criteria," said  the hotel's director. Of course, the award is above all an encouragement to continue to be there for the guests. "It would be great if we were there for next year's prize giving," she commented. "But we are happy for the present to be numbered among the most popular hotels." A.G.
